With the exception of a few years in New York City, I have lived in New Mexico since I moved to Albuquerque in 1980 to attend graduate school at the University of New Mexico, where I received an MA in Art Studio (Photography) in 1984. I was born and raised in Excelsior, Minnesota, a small lakeside community outside Minneapolis. I came to the Southwest via California, where I received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1978.
My photographs have been exhibited in galleries and museums, and have been collected by permanent collections, such as, Los Angeles County Museum, Musee Nicephore Niepce in Paris, The New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe, the Phinney Center in Seattle, Staley-Wise Gallery in New York, Mills College in Oakland, Fidelity Investments, and Exhibit 208 in Albuquerque, amongst others.
I currently teach photography in the Interdisciplinary Film and Digital Media program at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
